Lapointe shines among Hallowell candidates

Dedicated people stepping forward ensure Hallowell thrives while retaining its unique character and inclusiveness. The candidates running for municipal office this year all respect that goal.

One stands out for experience, judgment, temperament and effective leadership: Mayor George Lapointe.
I’ve known George for nearly three decades, as Maine’s Marine Resources commissioner, a neighbor and a colleague on Hallowell City Council. George, Hilary and their sons are treasured friends.

Over the nine years George has served on City Council and as mayor, Hallowell has successfully tackled many daunting challenges, including reconstruction of Water Street, securing a new home for our fire department while preserving and repurposing the historic fire station, and transforming the crumbling Stevens School campus into a vibrant, new community within our community.

George has been a driving force and wise, impartial leader on these and many other initiatives.
On Nov. 7, reelect Mayor George Lapointe.
